Reflections After Week Two "Au Lit"
Bonjour and Happy Friday everyone!
Thank you all for the kind, caring and thoughtful comments you left about my week 1 bed rest reflections. I've decided to post my week 2 reflections as well and would love to hear stories from any of you who may have had a similar happening/circumstance.
Here's what has been swimming around in my tired, pregnant brain this week ~
- A sad goodbye to my Louboutins until next year at least! So much for wearing the super cute gray flannel pair for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
- Flats aren't my favorite but they are working out ok. If anyone has a hook-up at Chanel, I would die for a pair right now.
- Kicking myself for not buy the pair of Repetto's I wanted when I was in Paris!
- Thank God for cute yet sturdy Puma's! Yes, I should have been wearing them that fateful Sunday morning... maybe the fall wouldn't have been so bad.
- My dad is a stellar chauffeur!
- Still VERY thankful for my friends and family! Please come by and visit
- Tuesday night we met up with an old friend from Paris who was in town on business. It was GREAT to get out of the house to see him for dinner and enjoy some live jazz although my body and foot are still recovering. It is frustrating being a woman with so much to do and no way to get it all done.
- Have any of you ever been put on bed rest? What did you do to not go crazy?
- I've got cabin fever... he's got cabin fever!
- It's supposed to be 100*F this weekend!! Thank goodness for the portable AC unit my hubby bought recently.
- My 3rd year wedding anniversary is quickly approaching; we will be in birthing class that evening. I don't think the hubby or I envisioned spending our 3rd anniversary learning about labor, little newborns and lab/medical procedures!
- I am SO glad, thankful and happy that I went and spent a month in France this summer. I will cherish the memories and fun times as I sit and do nothing the next 2 months.
- Again, timing is everything. Still not sure why this "had to happen" or now, however I am confident that some day I will have a better understanding why.
- I still love frozen yogurt and have been craving cupcakes like crazy!
- I had a breakdown this morning around 5am. Honestly, I am extremely frustrated and annoyed with my current limitations. And yes, I still miss my car and the freedom/possibilities it represents.
- I can't even water my own plants in my garden!
- My wardrobe is the most limited it has ever been! Let alone being solely in maternity clothes closing in on the last 8 weeks but now I have a boot that my cute, prego jeans won't fit over! Come on, throw me a bone!
- Do you know how hard it is to shave your legs with a belly and broken foot??!!
- A huge thanks to each and everyone of you reading this blog and leaving sweet and encouraging comments! My days just would not be the same without you. Merci Beaucoup!
- Still trying to figure out the pedicure situation... I NEED A PEDICURE!!
- Oh yes, also still worrying about the flattening of my "derriere". Squats are out of the question with a broken foot.
- Does anyone have a magic wand?
- Thank you for allowing me to take a break from fashion and style and post what is on my heart.
- Feel free to stop by and make crepes at my house anytime you like! My 2 favorites are Nutella and Citron/Sucre.
- My hubby is finally on a 3 week break from university classes!! Too bad we can't really go anywhere but I am happy for him to have alone time and be able to decompress.
- Accidents are trying times for a marriage. We are learning to work together as a team and grow in patience, grace and mercy for one another. NOT ALWAYS EASY however definitely worth the effort.
- My mom IS superwoman!
- Learning and thinking a lot about contentment today thanks to my girls group! They are always so full of wisdom, encouragement and good stuff!
- I can't wait until I purchase my Nespresso machine. Sorry to say it but I am over Starbuck's and need real, French coffee or shall I say "cafe"! (sorry, can't find the accents on my laptop)
- Speaking of food & drink, I'm starving yet again... so off to the kitchen I go!

Hey, my kids' favorite crepes are also citron/sucre!!! it's my daughter in law's favorite French dessert.
And... lots of us went through some difficult time too... it WILL get better!
Enjoy the rest, the extra time and being served!! If I could just find a way to have all three at the same time...I would LOVE it!

I will always love crepes, I can't get enough!
Thank you for your encouragement and for stopping by today! It was great to see you both and I wish you a fabulous time in France. I look forward to hearing about it once you get back.

The one quote above reminds me of your time here in Berlin with Toma and me and the song we were singing at the top of our lungs!
Best of wishes for you and the hubby Looking forward to catching up with him soon!

I have been thinking so much about you and now I feel completely updated with how you are. I hope to see you soon Kelli and we could always do "online shopping" but movies sound just as fun as well as of course EATING. If you didn't live so far you could be my new dining buddy! Are you expecting to have two months with alot of time available?
Reply to this
Julie, thank you!
Online shopping sounds great, I have all the time in the world until the baby arrives! Dr.'s orders to stay off my foot, Chiropractor's orders to stay off my crutches so that basically means on my "behind" for the next 8 weeks!
We did rent a wheelchair for a month so at least I can get out of the house and see the world a bit.
Have a great Sunday,
Ciao Bella!!!

Bonjour Mon Amie,
I for one, think, you're doing EXACTLY what you should be doing on your 3rd wedding anniversary!!!! What better way to celebrate than preparing for the birth of your child.
I"ll be in Paris next week and will blow bisous to your favorite city for you!
Toma
