Oh Holy Mac!

Macaron that is!

I've been back 2 weeks today and I am already missing
Ladurée and their famous macarons. I don't think it is purely a pregnancy craving, for me it is a LIFELONG craving!

Macarons

These small, round cakes, crisp on the outside, smooth and soft in the middle, are made every morning in Ladurée’s "laboratory". With each new season, Ladurée pays tribute to this, its most famous creation, by creating a new flavour.

The new flavour for spring 2009: Bergamot

Macarons collection:

Flavours that are permanently available:
Chocolate - Bitter Chocolate - Vanilla - Coffee - Rose - Pistachio - Raspberry - Blackcurrant Violet - Caramel with salted butter - Red Fruits - Orange Blossom - Liquorice - Lemon

Seasonal flavours:
Coconut - Mint - Amande - Spice and soft fruits - Chestnuts - Praline - Lemon Cedrat

Hope you each have a weekend filled with something delicious!
Kelli

PS ~ They serve a fabulous brunch on the weekends. I am kicking myself (or is that they baby?) for not going and enjoying every second!

WOW! Was that a giant macaron with raspberries in the middle? Heaven!

Oh how I wish Laduree printed a cookbook on how to make their amazing desserts. Did you happen to try a "divorcee" while you were there?

Great pictures as well. Tell is what "bergamot" is? Is it fruity?

Yes, that was a giant macaron! I am sure Nadine enjoyed it immensely!

Ladurée does offer a cookbook or two, check out there site. I did try a "divorcée" while in Paris and it was DELICIOUS! I can't tell you how I long for the pastries. It's bad, I assure you.

Bergamot is a citrus-y type of fruit grown mostly in Italy. The essential oils are extracted for many uses: perfume, body products and even Earl Grey tea! To read more check out what
Wikipedia has to say about it.

I was disappointed though because I was unable to leave a comment on your blog due to the options you had available as the user.

oh...they look so scrumptious! Can you believe I have never tried a macaroon yet. lol
Lately I've been really wanting to go to Paris. I'm hoping to get a chance maybe this fall to go there for a few days, but it's not for sure right now. Oh well, I have to learn to be patient...

Oh my are they good! You will positively be in heaven when you sink into one for the 1st time. Get a selection of the larger ones for your 1st experience, not the small "snack" size.
Well, whenever you do go to Paris let me know! You would be one lucky gal to have gone to Italy in the Spring and now Paris in the Fall... sounds like an ideal year!
      Have a fab weekend!

Well, thank goodness I'm not in France any longer! No macarons here for me here in SoCal.
And yes, having too much down time for a "woman of style" is extremely frustrating!
