Lifesaver! ~ Quick French Style Update

              Quick French Style Update

Growing up in Southern California where the often extremely hot, desert-like temperatures taught me to dress stylish and cute yet always keeping in mind how the right clothing would help me survive the heat. Natural fabrics that breathe, light colors, sunglasses galore and always a generous slathering of sunscreen before leaving the house or while laying on the beach were most of my normal tactics for making it through the summer.

Prior to moving to Paris I thought I had dressing for the summer down to the T. Of course I had many good ideas, a thorough base knowledge and a few good "astuces" to help me stay cool. But one thing did catch me by surprise! Linen... it was everywhere, on every French woman and French man for that fact. I was impressed by how cool it looked both temperature wise as well as being relaxed. For a city that usually dresses up, linen was a fun, casual way to keep cool during the "canicule" and still be stylish, classic and ever-chic!

                              Linen is a Lifesaver!!!

If you have yet to add a linen piece or two to your summer wardrobe, now is the time to do it! Get out to your favorite mall and purchase a pair of relaxed, linen trousers or a linen tunic that can double as a beach cover up. Oh yes, and if you are like me and prefer to iron everything, don't worry about the wrinkles, they are natural and perfectly ok to wear as is.

A bientot!

I am off for another day of shopping and fashion research in the City of Light,
Kelli
