Be sure to carry along a beautiful handbag whether it be a colorful clutch or a hippy hobo. And your must-have, chic accessory... a hat! How do you like these beauties?

If you already own a hat you love but feel it might not have quite the right look for the races, rummage through your scarf collection as well as your jewelry armoire and see what you find! Bring your hat to life with a cluster of brooches, a scarf pinned on in the shape of a rose or let a long scarf drap down the back of the hat for a dramatic look; this would be especially sexy if your dress was open-backed.

My grandparents lived near the famous Santa Anita racetrack and although I have never been to a race there, many times each year when we would visit, the track would be open and all a buzz. The chic women, the fancy cars and the hype of it all at Santa Anita is almost overwhelming. To be honest, I am not a fan of any sport that "uses" animals. I am a softie and hate to see, think or hear about any of the atrocious abuse that much of the times goes on behind the scenes. However, I know many do enjoy the races and for that I hope you will go in grand style!

What will you be wearing to the races this year?

Love these dresses - so pretty! Although it started to get nice and warm here in New Haven, it's back to being chilly today - boo.

Soon though, dresses will be my everyday wardrobe!

Love the hats and Club Monaco outfits.
Wish we could wear skimy summer dresses but it's still cold in Paris!

I've actually never been to a race...but if I go, I'd wear one of those Club Monaco dresses! I've been drooling over them ever since I saw them in a store , a couple of weeks ago...

    How are you feelin' love?

I agree Alison. The only time you pull off a big bold beautiful hat is at fancy weddings. It's oh-so chic. Otherwise, it has to stay in a box in my closet... for months

I LOVE hats! I have so many beautiful chapeaux but they are mostly for winter. I wore them almost weekly when living in France but I just can't get away with them as much in San Diego. They are fun to wear when going to a tea house, a wedding or for a photo shoot but other than that they are well tucked away in their hat boxes too. Jackie, I know how you feel, it's too sad. Then again, I am always one to say wear what makes you feel best {as long as it flatters you} so maybe I should start a heavy hat trend for ladies here in SoCal!
