Special Interview ~ Fifi Flowers Design Decor
***** Special ARWS Interview *****
Today I am excited to showcase the beautiful work, creativity and colorful creations of Fifi Flowers Design Decor. I have been reading her blog and following her work for many months now and I can tell you she is one talented, fun and passionate lady!
About L'Artiste:
Fifi has always had a passion for the arts. When Fifi's not working on an Interior Designing project, she paints to her heart's content... mostly delightful interiors filled with whimsy and fun! Fifi has a Bachelor's degree in Art/Graphic Design and a minor in Art History from Cal Poly, attended UCLA Film School for Production Design, and received an Interior Decorating Diploma from PCDI School of Creative Arts.
ARWS: How did you get started painting?
Fifi: That is a good question… I started painting when I was in college… starting with abstract splashes of color. Then I discovered Henri Matisse… and I copied one of his paintings… and then another and then I started painting from photos in magazines and photos that I took. I was hooked and I have been painting ever since.
ARWS: What drives your passion to paint?
Fifi: Better question… what doesn’t drive my passion to paint! I can say that since I started blogging a year ago… I want to paint ALL the time… the blog world is like a BIG FEAST before my eyes! J’adore “stealing” inspiration!
ARWS: Is this your career?
Fifi: I hate to call my paintings a career… but yes… ART is my career!
ARWS: Are there others with artistic talents in your family? If so, what type?
Fifi: My mother can draw ANYTHING… her father was an Interior Designer and designed and built his own Swedish style furniture… Her brother designs and builds race cars. My children have inherited the family talent as well, and they really enjoy art… makes me proud!
ARWS: What is your favorite monument, anywhere in the world, to paint?
Fifi: That is EASY!! The Eiffel Tower of course!!!
ARWS: Why Paris?/France? Why not Italy, England, Spain, Japan or any other wonderful place on earth?
Fifi: Welllllllllll… I always read about Paris and learned about the great artists living in France while I was in Art school. I wanted to go where the once roamed the streets and cafés. So I went to Paris, France right after I graduated from college (a present from my mother) and I fell in LOVE with the city! I did go to Switzerland and Italy as well… and I loved them too… but they not like Paris… there is no place like Paris!!!
ARWS: Do you work personally with people on home projects such a murals?
Fifi: I do custom paintings on archival paper and canvas… but I do not paint murals. I love that I can work with my clients’ photos so I can work with people all around the world… it’s FAB! I love knowing that I have paintings in many parts of the world like Kuala Lumpur, Australia, Denmark and even PARIS!!! Little parts of moi everywhere!!!
ARWS: What is your favorite color?
Fifi: This is a difficult question to answer! I LOVE color but my favorite is probably green!
ARWS: If you lose inspiration or creativity, where do you go, what do you do to discover it anew?
Fifi: Ooooh this does happen… and I absolutely HATE when it happens… many times of the years I have turned to listening to music and reading a book… flipping through magazines… LATELY… I turn to fellow bloggers and they NEVER disappoint!

The art you create is bright, positive, dreamy and oh so needs to be hung in my house!
