Tea-tastique!

What a wonderful afternoon I spent at Paris in a Cup last Wednesday with Judith, from Paris Atelier. She was exactly how I had imagined her to be! Beautiful, fun, passionate and simply a lovely woman to spend time with! Judith, thank you for meeting me in the adorable town of Old Orange. I look forward to our next rendez-vous for more delicious food and shopping!

A gift... for me?!? Merci beaucoup Judith!!!

Oh mon dieu! A stunning, antique chandelier from a Paris flea market!
Judith has the other hanging in her closet... which is where my beauty is destined to shine bright as well.

Of course we couldn't order our tea and lunch right away since we dove straight into a wonderful conversation about our lives and our love for Paris. After the waitress came by twice, we decided to take a break from walking each other down memory lane and give some attention to the delightful, delicious menu offered at Paris in a Cup.  Once we finally decided on tea and what tickled our fancy for lunch, we were right back into our conversation about life, love, Paris and how much it must have changed since we were last there.

Escape to Paris Lunch Menu ~ so adorable in person!

My déjeuner soon arrived and it was divine! The soup & croissant sandwich were just what the doctor ordered!

And of course dessert! Who would think of walking into Ladurée and not enjoying something decadent!??! None of us!

A close up of the selection they offered me. A cute purse cookie, a coconut macaron & a chocolate madeleine.

In between bites and sips our chatter continued. Judith was open, lovely and a delight to spend time with as we honestly explained to the other our life's passions, desires, dreams and more... of course many of them have something to do with Paris, fashion, all things beautiful and of course family and friends! Once the food was gone and our mouths a bit tired from talking so fervently and for quite some time... we decided it was the moment to browse the tea salon's boutique. Before heading over there for some shopping I snapped a few interior pictures of the salon. They really paid attention to detail and it was just gorgeous and did feel very Parisian to me.

Beautiful mouldings, a touch of metallic in the wallpaper and of course scenes of Paris adorn the walls.

A French knob on the back of the banquette

Ahhhh... the chandeliers! Judith got me going and now I can't stop! They were amazing in person!!!

Gorgeous fleur-de-lis fabric covering the banquette seating

Love it all! The light fixture, the flowers, Judith's wrapped box and the wallpaper.

Un petit coin de Paris

We had the time of our lives looking around the boutique. They offer delicious pastries, macarons and more to take home and share, antique lamps and light fixtures, plates, saucers, cups, silverware, serving dishes and more, perfumes, French lotions, candles, adorable gift ideas, beautiful cards, as well as teas from around the world, biscuits and other yummies, chocolates, jams and jellies from France and a multitude of other French-inspired items.

Feminine & beautiful, I wanted to bring everything home!

Oh Angélina's! This lovely tea salon and restaurant on rue de Rivoli holds 2nd place in my heart.
Of course Ladurée is 1st however I have many lovely memories of delicious rendez-vous' at Angélina's.

After splurging on a little more than I should have in this fabulous boutique, I bid Judith à la prochaine and decided to use les toilettes before hopping back in my car for a long drive south. While Judith spent the next couple of hours perusing the adorable and well-stocked antique stores in the area... I had a commute and didn't want to hit the sometimes very nasty SoCal traffic.

While in the ladies, I was impressed with the detail and time they took to make the restroom seem like Paris. These fashionable ladies greeted me and left me with the sweetest aftertaste of my afternoon at Paris in a Cup.

I'll take one of each... the gowns, the chairs and the chandelier!

Until next time...
Enjoy meeting a new friend, reminisce about years gone by and share your passions with another!

Thanks again Judith for a wonderful day!

Kelli

That soup and croissant sandwich looked tres yummy!!! I had forgotten about croissant-sandwiches and love the Parisian-American blend of foods!!

It's so fun to meet blog-friends in real life. I recently had the opportunity to meet both La Mom and The Paris Apartment bloggers and they were both a whirlwind of energy!!

Hmm... perhaps we should do a Paris bloggers conferrence? (Or rather as you and I are not "Paris bloggers" persay as much as we are "bloggers passionate about Paris" perhaps that's a better term!

    Best Regards Kelli,

    Kelli,

What a wonderful afternoon you both must have shared. The atmosphere, food, shopping, and memories of Paris all bottled up in one afternoon. I would have had to go home and have a nap.

Beautiful chandelier. What a kind and thoughtful person Judith must be.

    Et Salut
