Ma Vie Changerai Bientôt!
Seasons, phases, pockets of time... however you put it life is always changing, moving, flowing, growing and we never know exactly what is going to come of it. Some times a change makes a larger impact, one that we could never know or understand prior to that time; no amount of preparing, reading, resting, praying, loving, discussing and hoping can create the self-assurance to take on this new type of situation!
I have been toiling for weeks on how to put this in writing for you. As you might have gathered a bit, if you are a regular reader of ARWS, that I haven't quite been myself lately. I have been feeling a bit bizarre, a little overtaken by something I can't control. While I do not think of myself as a control freak, maybe this is a lesson to give it up, let it go and trust. Why is that SO hard sometimes?
My life has been incredibly rich of experiences, the meeting of wonderful people from cultures around the world, work taking me to France for 4 years and ultimately bringing me the passion, inspiration and business I own today. Again, life is always changing and since 2009 has been full of changes since the beginning... why not include more!
Je suis enceinte! ****************** I am pregnant! ******************
I don't really know what else to say. This petit bébé has been taking a toll on this mommy-to-be and as I am starting to come out of the 1st trimester fog... some days are still very hazy. It's like I am living in a dream. I can't quite understand it all yet. I read, cry, sleep, eat, feel sick, shop for prego clothes and hope for the best. Many chats have taken place with friends, family and of course my hubby. We are both very excited however needless to say, a bit nervous. This is a new frontier for us both! We have 4 cultures to bring this child into, to help him or her understand where both mommy and daddy came from and how that impacts our life.
1. Sow the seed of patriotism for the US (where mommy was born & raised)
2. Cultivate a love for France and all things French (where daddy grew up & where mommy fell in love with life abroad and daddy)
3. Grow a heart that is gentle yet strong for Africa (where daddy was born)
4. Open his/her eyes to the wonderful country that is Canada (this is where daddy learned to speak English)
I appreciate all your comments, support and emails these past weeks as you didn't know what was going on! It is so wonderful knowing that you are out there! Of course my life will change to accommodate mon petit bébé however my passion for helping women find the beauty they possess, guide them to find their own true style that flatters their body and just generally enjoying every moment of the process with my clients will not change. Et, bien sur, my love for France only grows stronger as this in the country where my husband and I met, dated, and eventually got engaged!
So, before my hormonal self starts to cry as I write down memory lane, I will leave you so I can meet a friend for a good, long walk on the bay. Hey, I've got to try to keep this prego body in shape!
Bisous,
Kelli

Here we are just moments after M proposed to me beneath L'Arc de Triomphe.
We are on the Champs-Elysées on our way to Ladurée for champagne and a celebration!

Congratulations to you Kelli, and M. I suspected that you were leaning that way around the time we had our blog interview and you wanted to know where I purchased the material for the sachets (fleur de lis )red fleur de lis on gold fabric... and said it would be nice for a baby's room??? But you weren't pregnant at that time. Just a feeling I had.
My very best to the both of you. And yes, those hormones can cause all sorts of strange sensations!!

Thank you for your comments, excitement and encouragement. We are both a bit overwhelmed with the idea... I guess it is a good thing we have 6 months remaining to come to grips with it and figure things out. So thankful for those of you who have gone before!
