Like A Kid In A Candy Store

This is the grown up version! The explorer's paradise! The product junkies best place for a new find! A veritable mecca for any girl, young lady or woman who wants to look beautiful, smell lovely and always find un petit peu de belle inspiration!

Yip, that's right... Sephora. After shopping with a client yesterday afternoon, I decided to take a spin around one of my local and smaller sized Sephora stores. Needless to say, I am always a bit overwhelmed and over-visually stimulated whether the store is small, large or mega-huge as the flagship is in Paris. I breathe deep and push past the initial urge to run the other way, because truly I love this store; it is a blast to discover new products... or at least they are "new" to me!

Every month I receive a slew of fashion magazines at my door step. As I take my time to browse and read through each and every one, I always take great interest in the beauty products mentioned within. Although I confess I am not one to branch out and try new products quickly, especially on the very delicate and uber-sensitive skin sur mon visage, I do enjoy the thought of a few new items in my makeup {artist} box! It is a petit cadeau I can offer myself; something I do not feel guilty about treating myself to, during budget-crunching times.

A true wonderland!

The flagship store, which opened on the Champs-Elysées in December 1996,
is the epitome of Sephora’s philosophy and intuitive trend-setting ability.

Sephora has something for everyone; men, babies and children included! If you are a lover of products, then you already know this and probably spend quite a bit a time perusing the aisles. However, for those of us that might forget this store even exists {in our temporary moments of insanity... ok, or just plain forgetfulness} it is a fun territory to be discovered and re-discovered if we have strayed for too long.

                                                            Interesting info about Sephora
Sephora is a division of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), the world's leading luxury products group. LVMH luxury brands form a lineage stretching back into 18th century France. The ultimate expression of crafting, creative energy and vision, each is a byword for excellence. Blending tradition with constant innovation, they embody a world of dream and fantasy, of sophistication and elegance. They are united by a single aim—to express the most refined qualities of Western "Art de Vivre." The philosophy of excellence and innovation at the heart of LVMH reflects directly in the spirit of Sephora and Sephora.com.

During my frequent promenades along the Champs-Elysées, I would decide to pop in and take a look around at what was new and exciting. They always had the best displays, so creative and artistic!Besides feeling overwhelmed by the sheer size of the store, I had to {mentally} push past the HUGE bouncers they have stationed at the entrance. But then... the red carpet is rolled out before you and you feel like la reine who just entered her beauty castle. The exploration begins; the sniffing of a new fragrance, the testing of a nail polish color that caught your eye along with a fabulous lip gloss. You continue through the store {of course there are a gazillion people, this is PARIS after all!}, meditating over the lines created by M.D.s, then on to the organic/naturals section. You stop, smell, and begin to wonder what type of potential miracles these little bottles hold. Next stop is hair care. Something not many of us spend much money on, as I am led to believe. While there are certain hair types that can deal with less expensive products, many of us need to splurge a bit! Frizz, curls, color-treated hair, heat-styled hair... and the list goes on. If you decide to splurge on 1 product and 1 only {for your cheveux } I would recommend, hands down, the Kérastase hair masque, Masquintense.  This is a small treasure sent from heaven and will change how your hair looks as well as how you feel about your hair!

Whoa, sorry for the short hair product tangent but I do love this product and have used it for years! When I initially saw the price at my coiffeur in Paris, I almost fainted but be strong. It is worth every penny and will last for months on end! Watch for sales and snap it up!

It takes the "edge" off of going in all of the time when it's right there! Great post Kelli! I have an obsession with shoes and products! So this was right up my alley. Fabulous!

    Kelli,

I also love this store. I could spend hours in there. I love to smell the new perfumes and also the ones I have never heard of before. I also love lip gloss and all of the different colors.

When I need something I usually will try Sephora first before anyplace else.

I really enjoyed your post and the informative info on Sephora...it never hurts to know all about the places you like to shop.

    Et Salut,

    Kris
