Culinary Delights & Inspirations

I am always keeping a watchful eye for inspirations of any kind, from anywhere. Lately, this word has been a bit of a struggle for me; I feel locked in writers block hell. While there are definite reasons why, I try to perk my creativity and peek any curiosities that could turn into inspirations at any moment during the day. Today I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite sites and blogs with you, in hopes you will share yours with us!

La Tartine Gourmande
This site is a veritable culinary treasure! While Bea is an absolute genius dans la cuisine she has a very approachable and wonderful air about her. Plus, I love her French accent!
These Hazelnut Chocolate Muffins began to tempt me as soon as I read her latest recipe over the weekend.
Bon Appetit!

The Antiques Diva
Of course The Diva shares a bit of everything about life with her wonderful readers and her latest recipe definitely caught my eye. It looks and sounds so tasty, I can't wait for the fall to make a huge pot of this and enjoy it for days! Thanks to the Contessa for writing in with this recipe!

Scrubs & Skillets
My dear friend Jenn, writes to us from Yale about 2 very different and messy passions she has in her life; Medicine and Cooking. One day she might write about her adventures in a hospital or in dealing with a patient and the next could be a delicious recipe from her cuisine. Please don't ask me how a Yale Grad student has time to cook, let alone try new recipes and enjoy it but Jenn does. Her fervor for life, all aspects of it, is uplifting and refreshing. The Chocolate Chip Scones she made last week, they had me at Chocolate!

Pham Fatale
While I have just started to enjoy Jackie's blog, I can tell you that I am already itching to get to the store so that I may return home and try some of her delicious recipes myself! These Mini Madeleine Muffins with Meyer Lemon Icing are right up my alley!

Chocolate & Zucchini
Both of Clotilde's delightful books have been sitting atop my buffet for over a year now. I purchased them with excitement, then life got busy and although they were right there, before my very eyes, I unfortunately didn't really see them. Saturday night my hubby was studying and I was on TV overload so I picked up Chocolate & Zucchini ~ Daily Adventures in a Parisian Kitchen
                                                               US edition
I have been refreshed and renewed, culinary wise, since reading the first few chapters. It was fantastic to be reminded that some of our favorite French cuisine isn't difficult to create; they enjoy seasonal ingredients and rather easy dishes on the quotidien. A weight was lifted from my shoulders when I realized, once again, that they aren't turning out Michelin rated dinners from their petites cuisines chaque soir.

Living Tastefully
I have enjoyed Eileen's recipes for over a year now. While I honestly haven't carved out time in my life to do to much baking, I am hoping that will change. I absolutely love macarons and I adore the name she came up with for hers; When You Can't Be in Paris Macarons. So cute and so apropos!

How do you find a renewed inspiration to spend time in the kitchen? Do you have a favorite culinary blog or website you would like to share?

Until next time...
Enjoy creating something with your hands and tastebuds!

Thank you to everyone for your comments! Notice, how all but one choice are sweets... bad, bad me!

Kris, the wine and dirt came off my gown surprising {and very grossly} while shooting the last shots in a poopy duck pond. I did keep & re-preserve the bodice of my gown that I hope someday to work into an outfit, ensemble or design a new dress around.

I told my hubby last night that I would much rather have someone cook delightful meals for us than help us keep our home tidy. Not that we have the luxury of either right now, but a girl's gotta dream! I'm not going so far as to ask for a personal chef but hey, I wouldn't say no!
