Worth the Wait!
Patience is a virtue, so I have been told. However for the past 3 decades, I have struggled with the idea of waiting. Just ask my parents, brothers, friends and husband. Cultivating patience is an ongoing discipline for me and one I hope to master sometime before I die! People always tell me "It pays off to wait". Most of the time I think they are insane, give me a break I'm a Generation Yer! Yet, one day back in November, I gave in and agreed.
I have always wanted a leather jacket, ALWAYS! However, knowing myself and my style, I didn't just want the black leather jacket that every other girl owned. Preferring one with a special twist, an added touch or a little something extra that made it exceptional, I have waited. Yes, me...

I am proud to introduce you to the leather jacket of my life! {Yes, my husband makes fun of me for how protective I am of this materialistic thing! He can't help it and neither can I, I love my Loro!} This beautiful brown, incredibly soft lambskin, cashmere-lined, quilted Loro Piana jacket belongs to me! Oh me, oh my!!
In all its splendor!
Close up shot so you can actually see the leather and the design of the jacket
Another angle ~ The pictures don't do it justice though.
The price tag practically stopped by beating heart but I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, this jacket was worth every cent! Not only is it a classic wardrobe staple that will serve me for years to come, it will also be passed down to future generations like the beautiful clutches I inherited from my Grandma. Some of you might think this is crazy but I say "non"! A foundational piece such as this Loro Piana will be flattering on many body shapes and skin colorings. While living in France, I met many {lucky} young women who inherited couture pieces from their mothers or grandmothers be it an Hermès bag, Chanel chapeau or a vintage, filigree piece from any one of the top designers! Well, here is my 1st contribution to my fashionable offspring {the daughter I am hopeful to have one day when the time is right}. I have every confidence that this gorgeous leather jacket will always and forever be à la mode.
Oh yes, back to the concept of patience. Today I leave you with the below words to ponder. These lyrics are from a song my mom used to play for my brothers and I when we were little. Ah, the brainwashing began at a very young age and I have to admit that I have made some progress. Baby steps with patience, baby steps!
Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient, you only start to worry. Remember, remember, that God is patient too and think of all the times when others had to wait for you.

Here I am recently sporting my new love in Toronto. I wish I could wear it all the time however the weather in SoCal doesn't often require a cashmere-lined leather jacket!

Hi there! Such beautiful words of wisdom! Unfortunately too many of us, humans, lack patience, however we are the ones that suffer from it the most. So, the faster we learn to accept certain things in life, the happier we will become.
I love that leather jacket of yours. Where in Toronto did you get it?! It's absolutely fantastic

Hi Mimi, Thanks for stopping by!
I purchased my Loro Piana in San Diego but my 1st opportunity to wear it was while we were on vacay in Toronto. Hope we get to see photos from your upcoming shoot!
