I would like to thank Kelli for allowing me to guest blog about my love of Jason Wu’s dolls!

Jason Wu has done it again!  He’s already revolutionized the 12” fashion doll market with his wonderful designs, and now he has outdone himself with his new line of 16 3/4” vinyl dolls, the “AvantGuards – Fashion Metamorphs” which were released last month.

Jason felt that the 1970’s was very on trend with what is being shown on the runways, so he transferred that feel to this first line of AG dolls.  He took inspiration from icons like Diana Ross and Farrah Fawcett that truly represented glamour in the 70’s and then tried to make the line modern and high fashion.  The line will continue to evolve and take on different themes, but will always be very high-fashion with a little bit of an edge to them.

AvantGuards have 21 points of articulation for greater posing, an interchangeable wig and 2 sets of removable feet (high heeled & flat) and hands (fashion pose & articulated fingers).  The first line will include 3 dolls with an edition size of 300 each.

LiveWire – Glamorous, exotic and just a little bit dangerous.  LiveWire wears a sequined micro-mini with exaggerated sleeves and a plunging neckline.  Over the top afro wig, clear gladiator heels and a gold chainmail belt make this a total modern presentation.

Lush – A luminous look that brings to mind the days of Studio 54.  Lush exudes all that is glamorous in a hand sequined and beaded dress and gold leather belt.  A feathered wig and shimmering eye shadow complete this look.

Eclectic – She’s the modern girl with a city style of her own.  Eclectic wears a luxurious black fur bolero, mustard yellow button down vest and black sateen shorts.  A sleek raven wig, fishnets and leather platform biker boots complete this vixen’s outrageous day look {above}.
