Guest Blog ~ Finding Your Inner B!
Today's guest post comes to us from a very good friend of mine. Jenn and I met in French class, a decade ago, when she complimented me on my eyeshadow during break! Needless to say we have been wonderful friends ever since! We share many common passions such as shopping, traveling, red wine, fashion, and of course, everything and anything French!!!
I would like to thank my dear friend for taking time out of her busy life at Yale to write for us at ARWS! Merci mon chère amie!

What’s a native California girl to do when she moves her happily planted west coast roots to the east coast? When in Rome, I say! All one can do is embrace and perhaps, re-invent?
California is a comfortable and casual culture, from the food to the attire. I love my flip-flops, jeans and snug tees as much as the next girl, but learning to dress à la east coast is great fun! Each passing season is an invitation to decide which style or new accessory I’ll embrace for the coming months. Riding boots and a slim blazer for a fall equestrian look? A white puffer coat and tall shearling boots for a kiss of winter wonderland glory, maybe? Perhaps due to a more varied changing of seasons, or going to school at Yale, or maybe just a generally more conservative air on this side of the country, the east coast allows for a certain “preppiness” that may not be fully appreciated to the same extent out west.
So with all this chatter about seasonal dressing and the fun of being classic and preppy, here’s my vote as the most inspired current trend: headbands. Many thanks to Blair Waldorf, of Gossip Girl, for bringing this style to the forefront of fashion.
I admit it, I’ve been headband crazy these days, luckily finding many adorable ones from J.Crew.
Here’s a few of my latest purchases:

I’m also in love with headbands from France Luxe, like this one:
You can purchase adorable headbands everywhere from Forever 21 to Versace. While I personally feel that bows and feathers are adorable accroutements, that’s not to say you can’t find equally charming choices that are a tad more understated. I say experiment, explore and have fun with this very feminine trend!

Jenn is native San Diegan currently pursing graduate studies at Yale University in Connecticut. She loves to cook, shop and travel at every available opportunity. Currently planted on the east coast, she’s enjoying all the weekend travel destinations, such as Newport, Martha’s Vineyard and the Hamptons. Very very cute!! Thanks for the post!!

I agree when in Rome...... Same thing happened to me from Australia to Paris. I had to throw out the flip flops and embrace fashion. Happy New Year. Carla
