First Big Decision
I am not really one for politics. I know, you may be asking yourself, how did she live in Paris and not discuss politics? People, let me tell you... I saw too many wonderful dinner parties get trop argumentative over politics. I am not a calm person to begin with and discussing, debating or full out brawling over political choices and/or issues is just NOT my style. It stresses me out and I prefer to not add more stress to my life so I leave the heavy debating up to my well-educated and debate-loving French hubby. Let's just say he is VERY gifted when it comes to debating, n'est pas mon amour?
However, today I am going to get a little political. When fashion and politics collide I am there! I watched Michelle Obama throughout the race, observed her style choices, her fashion favorites and more. While recently reading Vogue France, an article captured my interest. The author spoke of how top designers from around the globe have offered sketches of gowns to First Lady Michelle for the Inaugural Ball.
Without further adieu, I present to you the gowns that win my vote!

Monique Lhuillier
Love it, love it, love it! So glam!

Carolina Herrera
This color will look stunning on the First Lady. And the cut, va va vooooooom!

Diane von Furstenberg
Feminine, simple and oh so elegant!

Michael Kors
True American Blue! Gorgeous and classic!

Peter Som
This winter white is a beautiful classic!

Tuleh
I love the silhouette as well as the color. This beautiful rosy nude will pop on our First Lady!

Reem Acra
I love this gown! You can never go wrong with red.
I also decided to post a few gowns I find hideous, repulsive and completely inappropriate for the Inaugural Ball!

Betsey Johnson
Do I really need to say anything at all?

Christian Lacroix
The gown itself isn't so bad but that cape and that atrocity around the neck... I am speechless!
She looks more like an evil stepmother than our First Lady!

Nicole Miller
The gown is pretty but she might look like a bow on a late Christmas gift!

Reem Acra
This could be a beautiful gown however the skirt portion looks like a big, huge umbrella! Here she comes, clear the dance floor.
Great everyday looks for First Lady Michelle:

Diane von Furstenburg
I love the bright colors and classic cut of this ensemble!

Tracy Reese
This trench coat is truly presidential! What's not to love?
I hope Michelle chooses to add this to her already fashionable wardrobe.
Who gets your vote? Who should Michelle Obama choose to wear to the Inaugural Ball?
Stay tuned, January 20th, to find out who she loved enough to don at this once in a lifetime event!
Until next time...
Keep it stylish, keep it beautiful and be inspired!

Wonderful post Kelli. I think you have selected the very best of them but if I could choose one, the Monica Lhuillier would be my pick for Michelle Obama. xv

Peter Som has my vote. A very classy, unpretentious and understated look which serves the First Lady well. Absolutely love it!!!

My vote is for either the royal blue or the red one (first picture). She is a stunning woman so whatever she wears will look incredible on her.
On another note, Kelli I am in need of your fashion advice. You know me and know that I am no fashion expert nor do I want to spend much money on clothes. Nick and I are going to Jamaica in two weeks and I am needing a dress to wear for our more formal evenings at the Sandals Resort. Keep in mind that I am wanting to cover up the rest of the baby weight that I need to lose. Would love love love your thoughts.
