Today and Every Day...
My 3 year anniversary of living State-side quickly approaches! As usual today and every other day my heart is in France. Why oh why so.much.torture.??
Not a day goes by that I do not have a memory, thought or picture flash through my mind. Some days it happens only once; a fleeting moment. Other days the memories of people, sights, sounds and amazing life experiences linger... all day long! Sometimes I want to cry a little, curl up with my photo albums or old journals and live in the past. Other days I want to chat on the phone with old friends, colleagues and family whom still live in the City of Light. Some nights I have vivid dreams of walking the streets, shopping, talking with tourists and visiting all my old haunts.
Today, my reminiscing comes in the form of posting some photos I took while living there. I hope you enjoy this quick tour de la France!
A great meeting place near Châtelet
Toasting with friends
Beautiful neighborhood street
Adorable church and town fair in Antony
Cité metro station
My hubby and I spent a lovely, rainy evening at this wonderful café on Ile St. Louis.
The waiter was an absolute delight and we enjoyed watching the lights of the city glow as the rained poured down.

Le Champs de Mars

La Seine et Le Louvre

View of the city from the Eiffel Tower. Look, there's L'Arc de Triomphe where my hubby proposed!

Le Pont Des Arts ~ I love this bridge!

I can't tell you how many times I walked past this café!
Concarneau

Concarneau

Enjoying a 100% "bio" breakfast at a lovely "organic" B&B

Fort at Fougères

Aber Wrack

Harbor of the naval town of Brest

Chambord ~ One of my favorite château in the Loire Valley

Clos Lucé ~ where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last 3 years of his life

I have a shrine in our house devoted to La Tour Eiffel!

Inside ceiling of L'Opéra Garnier
Can one ever have too many crêpes?
Smiling with one of my closest friends in Paris {I watched the "9/11 news" on her TV}
Until next time...
Where is your heart today? What are your dreams? What memories do you love to re-live from the past?
Kelli
PS ~ Remember, we will always have Paris!

I'm so glad you took pictures to share! My heart is in San Diego, but I long to travel overseas. My hubby has traveled the world and I can't wait to do so as well! Your pictures are heavenly :o) How long were you in Paris?

Oh Kelli! I know EXACTLY how you feel! Your photos are glorious (especially the Garnier ceiling)! It seems as though my heart is always there! I think once you have had a taste & lived it for a bit, there is no turning back. It is such a different way of life, a different pace, & sense of history & culture. Now I'm sad too! Off to look at my photos now! (Only mine are much older, it's been too long)! Thanks for the beautiful memories!

Lavender N Lattes ~ I am so happy that you enjoyed the tour today. Your boyfriend better be picking you up quite a few gifts from Paris!
C ~ I have GOT to get back to Paris! Springtime baby!! Can't wait to see more of what you are busy working on currently... so exciting!
Christelle ~ I lived in Paris for 4 years, what a blessed experience it was! The photos today were just random shots I had on my computer. I have so many more photos that are actually prints... Yes, I need to buy a scanner. I hear you about traveling the world... my hearts beats for that!
Judith ~ You are right! There is something unexplainable, until you experience it for yourself that happens in France. It gets under your skin! To my friends who only know me as a California Girl, I call my years in Paris my "other life". It's true... there is a completely different lifestyle and joie de vivre that for me only exists there! Hey, trip this coming spring!... let's all plan it!
Bisous to you all, I hope to hear more about everyone's dreams, plans and where you hearts are!

Kelli,
Congrats on 3 years "at home"! I forgot that we moved away from Paris around the same time - you about 6 months after I moved to Holland. Now, I'm on a house hunting trip in Berlin... my how time flies! I too still miss Paris! The picture of us toasting made me smile!
Much Love,

After reading this I am longing for Paris and good times with our dear friends. The four of us can go to Lo Sushi, walk around Le Tour Eiffel and get a crepe with nutella and bananas from that little green stand next to the Seine and the bridge. Ahh, I can dream right? Oh and then we can all go to Laduree for some champagne and cassis and citron macarons.
