My 1st Blog Award ~ Merci Beaucoup!
Yesterday, I received my first blog award from Sandra at Two Girls For Mama. Thank you so much!!! I am extremely touched!
Here are the rules for this award:
* Mention the blog that gave you the award and comment on their blog to let them know that you have posted their award.
* List 6 things you VALUE and 6 things you Don't VALUE.
* Lastly, pass the award onto 6 other friends!
Six Things I Value: (In no particular order)
1. My Family: I have a great hubby, wonderful parents and two very handsome brothers. I love my extended family and my "family-in-law". Heck, I left Paris because I missed my family so much over the years. That has to mean something HUGE, since I LOVE PARIS!

2. Friendship: I think I would shrivel up and die without having friends in my life. They are my lifeline; always lovely and loving, supportive, inspiring, courageous, full of dreams and just wonderful people! I am blessed to have them sprinkled throughout my life and all around the globe! Je vous aime tout!
3. My International Experience: Both my grandma and grandmother were avid travelers. Well, that bug was certainly passed down to me, yip... no doubt about that! Being in Europe, and even more specifically France, gave me a new outlook on life and myself as well as my goals and dreams. I am a better, stronger and more courageous woman for having lived and experienced life in a foreign country, speaking a foreign language, working with people of a foreign culture and being able to appreciate each experience and moment for all it was worth.
I am always willing to share the following tid-bit with my friends and clients and now I would like to share it with you all! If you have not yet had {created yourself} the opportunity to go abroad, I highly encourage you to think about it, dream about it and begin to plan. The way looked SO long for me as I began to pave my path back in 1999. Everyone takes a different road in life, but I believe in miracles and I also believe anything is possible if you seek after it. This doesn't mean you need to leave for years on end, but I do recommend going somewhere, anywhere for 6 months! It will change your life in more ways than you can imagine!
{Sorry if this bullet was a bit long... as you can tell however my experiences have really shaped who I am today and they give me continuous breath for life, love and new adventures. BTW, hubby, if you are reading this... next expatriation... I vote for Italy!
}

4. Yummy Food & Drinks: I love eating out and trying new, delicious foods and drinks. I haven't been dining out so much the past 6 months since I found out that I have some stomach issues, but every now and then I do it anyways and just suffer the next day. I love good home cookin',anything almost anything French, wine, chocolate, hummus, fresh, seasonal fruits & veggies along with chocolate protein shakes made with vanilla almond milk and espresso ice cream. They are truly a treat! I could go on and on, so I will stop now.

5. Traveling: Ummmm, I think I covered this one in bullet #3.
6. The Creative Mind that My Creator Gave Me: I am thankful that when I get stuck in a rut or in the mundane, that I was blessed with the creativity to pull myself out. I am inspired by fashion, photography, words, colors, nature, books, people, all of the arts, travel, languages, thoughts of heaven, generations past, history, Europe and the list goes on. I love that I have met so many other creative and inspiring people through my work at A Rendez-Vous With Style as well as through blogging! Many thanks to each and every one of you!
Things I Don't Value: (In no particular order)
1. Annoying or rude people... enough said!
2. Liars: They are hurtful, deceitful and I do not value them or what they stand for at all.
3. Ignorance: I lived abroad 4 years and loved every minute! People always ask me... Was it hard at times? Yes! Was I nervous at times? {ie: 9/11} Yes! Were there cultural misunderstandings? Of course! I am an American and I love the US, however I need to be truthful and very clear. We should not think our country, people, language or business structure superior to that of others. There are amazing people all over the world, from every country, all cultures and each different language. The US isn't the "best" country on earth, we are just blessed and I like to think of the past ~200 years or so as our "brief, shinning moment" in history. I ask you to please keep in mind that we ALL have something to learn from someone else, whether we hold a passport and travel or not.
4. Getting up early: I am NOT a morning person. {Thanks mom} I do not "do" mornings very gracefully or graciously... just ask my hubby. My best sleep tends to come between 6am-9am... which doesn't really work well for me since my alarm goes off at 6.15am most mornings!
5: Not Having {Enough} Free Time: I think every woman out there knows what this feels like! I get the sense that I have been knee deep for too long now. Every now and then I am able to pull myself out for a few days, but then life takes over again and I find myself craving down time to just sit and be.
6: Disease, war, injustice: Need I say more?
I pass this award to the following fabulously inspiring ladies:
The Antiques Diva
The Paris Apartment
French Essence
Paris Atelier
Scrubs & Skillets
Fifi Flowers Design Decor
Thank you for your comment love and readership! You are all appreciated!!!
Until next time...
Go out, live your life and love every minute!
Kelli
