I HEART PARIS
T oday is one of those days, I miss Paris!!
I spent 45 minutes this morning on the phone with a friend helping her plan a trip to Paris in October.
Having never been there, we started with the basics; the layout of the city and its 20 "arrondissements" {districts}. Then we moved on to review the complicated mess of colored lines I know all too well as the Paris metro map! We spoke of hotels, must-see sites, where to eat, must-shop boutiques and much more.
Through all this, my heart swelled and I had a moment. I could feel it all again! I paused and delighted in my memories. The crisp, fall air gently dancing across my face as I walked along the Seine. You might have seen me rushing by on my way to meet girlfriends for a drink or to rendez-vous with the man I now call "mon mari" {my husband}. I enjoyed everyday looking chic and feeling cozy in one of my favorite French scarves. Somehow I still vividly recall the outstanding and always changing light in the sky, the olfactory sensation of walking past a boulangerie {bakery} first thing in the morning right after fresh baguettes where pulled from a huge stone oven or the glorious feeling of a lazy Saturday spent wandering quaint, cobblestone, historically rich streets.
As I pour out my love for this city it doesn't come from just visiting, it comes from living it.
The good and the bad. The easy and the difficult. The joy and the pain.
I now come to realize, all great things in life require hard work and a little risk taking! It is not guaranteed to be amazing 100% of the time, however Paris comes mighty close!
I hope you enjoy our stroll together through the city where my heart will always linger...

Looking back at the Notre Dame Cathedral from the Left Bank
{I had one of the most spiritual experiences of my life one winter's evening in this colossal cathedral. Rain pounded the city... there I was, safe, warm and dry inside enjoying the sweet sound of praises reverently offered up in Latin. I will save the rest of the story for another time.}

Some days you love it, others you hate it!

The gorgeous Musée du Louvre was once a royal château. It now houses nearly 35,000 pieces of art

The beautiful Sacré-Cœur sits atop Montmartre

L'Arc de Triomphe, one of my favorite sites in the city
Engage your culinary side

Enjoy a long walk through charming streets, hidden courtyards and perfectly manicured gardens
I hope will join me again someday for another tour through one of my favorite cities!
Until next time...
Find your inner-chic, embrace a new life experience and be beautiful!
A bientôt,
Kelli
